Here is our standard clustering UPS.
The entire server room is powered through these line-interactive UPS systems that hold AC power to our server room while waiting for the generator auto-starting sequence to complete.
Just as ab aside, we prohibit the entry of customer UPS equipment into our facility, preferring to shoulder the burden of UPS directly in a well-engineered and standardized UPS unit. This UPS features a giant winding that prevents electrical surges and spikes from reaching our colocated and managed care servers.
Yes, the pictured unit is being used as a doorstop. A temporary condition to be sure and later refurbished or de-commissioned.
